On October 4, 2023, we received a visit from Dr. Rafaela Baldi, who dedicated her time to talk to our elementary I & II students, highlighting the importance of oral hygiene and what care we should take on a daily basis.
Good oral hygiene is essential to avoid a series of problems, including serious illnesses. Teeth cleaning should be done after every meal and also at the end of the day, before going to sleep. Furthermore, oral hygiene is related to the health of all parts that make up the mouth, such as teeth, gums and tongue. Therefore, a set of practices is necessary to guarantee the health of teeth and gums, promoting a healthy smile and clean breath. Cleaning your teeth prevents problems such as cavities and bad breath. Furthermore, this practice allows us to look better and allows for an adequate digestive process, since the teeth begin mechanical digestion.
Inspired by the lecture, elementary school students made posters to put in the school bathrooms about oral hygiene and elementary school students made videos with tips for good brushing, as well as in the link below.
